Keith N. Borgeson

Mr. Borgeson’s healthcare experience includes over twenty years in hospital operations and planning.  Since joining Walsh Consulting Group in 2002, Mr. Borgeson has expanded his experience while working at both academic and community medical centers.  In his current role as a Senior Consultant for Walsh Consulting Group, Mr. Borgeson provides project management, planning and research services.

Mr. Borgeson’s experience includes the following:

  • Project management, equipment budgeting and specification development for an 850,000 sq. ft. academic medical center expansion project. The space program included a multi-level interventional suite of (28) inpatient operating rooms and (14) interventional radiology rooms with several designed for hybrid procedures.  Borgeson also led planning activities for central sterilization, diagnostic imaging, emergency services, and recovery services.  Funding guidelines were established to promote the use of existing equipment and to support continued utilization of the hospital’s capital replacement process. The project’s medical equipment cost estimate was managed at approximately $105M.
  • Equipment budgeting and specification development for the expansion of peri-operative services at several hospitals and medical centers. Assisted facilities in planning integrated video systems for operating rooms with boom suspended equipment.
  • Equipment budgeting, specification development, and procurement services for a 306,000 sq. ft. greenfield hospital. Equipment specifications were developed with representatives from a multi-hospital system to enable “best in class” equipment selection.  This included planning for the Departments of Central Sterile Processing, Emergency, Physical Therapy, Radiation Oncology, Recovery Services, and Surgical Services.

Prior to joining Walsh Consulting Group, Mr. Borgeson was a Material Manager at Advocate Healthcare’s Lutheran General Hospital. At the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Mr. Borgeson conducted utilization audits in critical care areas and supported clinical services.
